Nora Gene McWilliams,
91, of Towanda, KS, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at home. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at
Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Towanda United Methodist Church. Burial will
follow at Towanda Cemetery. Nora Gene was born in El Dorado, KS on October 6, 1926, to the late Lura May (Cox) and Albert
Guilford Pyle. She graduated from Towanda High School and later attended Columbia Christian Female College. On December 13,
1948 she married James Rodney "Rod" McWilliams in Wichita, KS. In the early 1950's she and Rodney ran a farm in
Raymondville, TX. Nora Gene worked as a secretary at Towanda Grade School for many years and later worked as a secretary in
the Circle High School guidance counselor's office. Nora Gene and her husband owned a small mountain lodge called Singing
River Ranch in Questa, NM where many family and friends enjoyed spending time. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the
Eastern Star, and was also a member of the Towanda United Methodist Church. Nora Gene loved to volunteer and volunteered at
many places including the Union Rescue Mission and at hospitals. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rodney; her brother,
Tom Pyle; granddaughter, Naomi. She is survived by: son, Michael McWilliams and wife Brenda of Towanda, KS; daughter, Debra
Wilson and husband Jimmie of Towanda, KS; son, John "Rocky" McWilliams and wife Beverly of Benton, KS; sister, Gayle
DaMetz of Towanda, KS, and Alberta Gardner of El Dorado, KS; sister in law, Marilyn Pyle of Towanda, KS; grandchildren, Audrey
Varner (Donny) of Russell KS, Ed Cabana of Towanda, KS, Jennifer Primm (Mike) of Wichita, KS, Roxanne Butler (Rusty) of Towanda,
KS, Josh Wilson of Towanda, KS, Heather McWilliams of Wichita, KS; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. Memorial
